With so many anti-ageing creams on the market, we should all look like teenagers. So why don't most anti-ageing beauty creams work?

Firstly, they usually contain mainly water, with only token amounts of 'important sounding' ingredients. Secondly, most creams simply can't penetrate the skin's protective barrier. So while these creams appear to be absorbed, it is just the water in the product evaporating. To properly address the signs of aging requires an inside-outside approach to skin care, so we enlisted the advice and help of two industry specialists.

What natural products assist with anti-ageing?

Vitamin C, firms up wrinkling and sagging skin and is helpful for the production of collagen.

Natural vitamin E, (d-alpha) is a powerful antioxidant that has many anti-ageing effects including reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Synthetic vitamin E does not provide these anti-ageing benefits.

Coenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone), is the secret ingredient in a lot of anti-ageing creams. As we age we make less of it, which contributes to our ageing appearance.
