His method of healing disease, after a dramatic change in mid-career was totally different from orthodox doctors. In fact he said,
"I never became a real doctor until I forgot 95% of what I was taught at Edinburgh (his UK medical school)."
Used no drugs or surgery
During the 1940's Dr Ulric Williams, opened four Health Homes in the Wanganui area and healed chronically ill cancer, arthritis, TB, and heart disease patients who came to him from all over New Zealand. He sent virtually every one of them home completely well, using no drugs or surgery. His healing method was to identify what they were doing wrong and then show them how to correct it.

Severe arthritis cured
A 68 year old minister of religion arrived at his Wanganui Health Home in 1942 with severe Arthritis. He was so crippled he couldn't walk from the taxi. He shuffled painfully using two walking sticks as props under each arm. After six weeks on a natural food diet he was walking 4 miles a day. At age 72 he wrote back to Dr Williams saying,
"On Friday I walked 16 miles, on Saturday 12 miles, and on Sunday I took three services at widely scattered locations and walked every yard of the way. I am getting fitter every day."
Breast cancer cured
A 53 year old woman who was healed naturally of breast cancer wrote to him a year later saying,
"I have just completed the happiest year I have ever known. And I know now that for me disease can never exist."
A second woman also healed of breast cancer, and TB, after three weeks on a special diet,
"I am amazingly well, and the neighbours marvel as I go swinging up the hill, my happy heart singing for joy."
Another patient wrote, "After a month or two of his treatment I felt as if I didn't even have a body, movement was so light and effortless, even walking up hills."

Dr Ulric Williams was born 22 May 1890 at Putiki near Wanganui. He was a tall (6'2") reserved man, good looking and a very good athlete. He had an exceptional mind and trained as a doctor in the UK at Cambridge and Edinburgh Universities.
He returned to New Zealand and operated a general practice and also worked as a surgeon at the Wanganui Hospital.
Eventually he became dissatisfied with surgery as means of healing. He saw the human body as a
marvellous creation and surgery seemed like mutilating it.

A voice from God
He steadily became more uneasy about his medical practice. He wrote,
"Something was obviously terribly wrong. I kept asking myself, "Why all this disease?"
Up until this stage in his life Dr Ulric Williams had the reputation of being a 'playboy doctor' more interested in sports, golf, women and booze than his patients. He would as one of his golfing friends put it,
"rush them through his surgery, filling them up with sedatives and drugs just as quickly as he could, so that he might have more time for his pleasures."
One night, when Dr Williams had pushed his last patient for the day through and was alone in his surgery, he heard a clear voice speak to him and say,
"Are you not ashamed of yourself?"
He believed this voice to be from God and it became a turning point in his professional career. He repented of his playboy lifestyle, turned his life over to God, and rejected what he saw as the hypocrisy of
'the system' and began adopting natural healing methods and eventually opened his four health homes.
Almost everybody went home healed
Results were miraculous - almost every one went home healed, even 'terminally ill' cancer patients. In one of his letters he states,
"This is the forty-third case of cancer that has responded to our treatment."
The only patients who didn't recover completely were those who would not change their way of living. He later wrote
"There are no incurable diseases, but there are some incurable people; incurable because they don't want to change."
