CUSTOMER BULLETIN six  Spring 2006

From David Coory, author of the nutrition book "Stay Healthy by Supplying What's Lacking in Your Diet" and Managing Director of Zealand Publishing House.

Dear Valued Customer

Our number of customers continues to grow rapidly. We like to think that this is because of our commitment to quality and old fashioned, value and honesty. We also try to publish health books that are really useful, and to develop and constantly improve health products that really work.

Coral C calcium for long term bone health

Sales of CAA and CoQ10-Omega-3 continue to boom, mostly through word-of-mouth recommendations. This is because people feel the difference almost immediately. But Coral C calcium which is every bit as essential, seems to be lagging behind a little. This is probably because people don’t always feel an immediate benefit from calcium, apart from better relaxation and deeper sleep.

This is because our body always has emergency access to calcium, through our bones, which act as a calcium bank. But as we get older it is often all withdrawal and no deposits. And so we shrink in height and our bones become brittle and break easily, like the branch of a dead tree.

However a recent Japanese experiment on 58 elderly, bed-ridden hospitalised women, demonstrated that high grade, organic marine calcium increased bone calcium by 6% over an 18 month trial. Common rock calcium (dolomite) maintained the status quo, and the standard hospital diet resulted in an incredible 9% drop in hip bone calcium. (Doing no exercise and hormonal changes obviously contributed to this frighteningly high figure. I cannot stress enough the importance of vigorous, bone-flexing exercise throughout our lives, even just brisk walking.)

So the rewards of taking Coral C calcium are mostly preventative. But it can pay off massively as we get older.

Ed, a 75 year old, friend of mine, had drank plenty of milk early in his life. He went to the Tauranga hospital for a bone density test two years ago. In his case this involved using an instrument to probe or drill his hip bone. Ed told me that the doctor doing the test joked that Ed’s bone was so hard and dense he almost broke his equipment. The doctor also remarked that it was the strongest bone he had ever come across. Ed has been hospitalised numerous times in his life for horse falls, ladder falls, motor cycle crashes, etc, yet he has never once broken a bone. Powerful testimony to the benefits of a high-calcium diet.

The 1997 NZ Nutrition Survey identified Calcium as the most deficient bulk mineral in the NZ diet today.

We continually hear excellent reports from our customers who are taking all three of our Triple Pack products.

pH testing strips and cancer

The scourge of cancer is everywhere nowadays in NZ. Interestingly, I have yet to see a person with cancer who tests above pH 6.0 on our saliva testing kit. (Healthy is 6.8.) These little kits are a cheap and excellent way to monitor healing progress in a cancer patient, (once a week is enough) and also to assess your own risk (once every three months). Each test costs less than a dollar.

CAA mottling

Storing CAA in the drier air of your fridge seems to reduce the chance of mottling which is due to dampness. Also keep the lid screwed on tight and the moisture absorbing pack inside. Mottling does not reduce the effectiveness of CAA. It is due to the high absorbability of the minerals.

Internet banking and new phone system

Making payments by Internet banking is growing fast because it is so quick and easy. We do however sometimes have trouble identifying who has made a deposit. Please call us first on our 0800 number before making a deposit into our account. Our bank account number is 03 1548 0039888 00. It is also printed on our order form.)

Due to growth we are having to upgrade our phone system. This may possibly involve “press this button, etc” however you will always end up speaking with a real, live, friendly person. We love our customers.

Kindest regards,

David Coory.
