Dear Valued Customer My Billington plum tree is a mass of white blossoms. I love the beauty of spring time, just as does my 90 year old mother. Bowel book All going well, we should have the NZ edition of “Happiness is a Regular Complete Bowel Motion” book by Australian Naturopath, Dr Peter Edwards available in our next catalogue. It is having its final edit now. Dr Edwards tells me that the Australian response to his book is becoming considerable, more so than any of his other health books. A relative of mine, Alison first drew my attention to this book. She had suffered from bowel problems for years and had read every classic book on this topic. She said this book had helped her more than all the others. Updated Stay Healthy book I am continually asked when my updated “Stay Healthy by Supplying What’s Lacking in Your Diet” book will be ready. I wish I could name a date. It should have been done some years ago. But the Health House business keeps growing so fast I can’t seem to find enough time to get a clear run at it. However I have now accumulated the information I need to include in the book. It just needs condensing down to a more readable format. Aloe Vera Gel and Colloidal Silver We have changed suppliers of our organic Aloe Vera Gel, to avoid the slightly fermented, vinegar smell of the earlier production. This fermentation was due to the removal of a tiny amount of preservative that our former producer prefers to no longer use. The gel still worked fine however, despite the brief odour on application. Our present organic supplier omits this preservative also, but the odour is not present. The temporary wrinkle reducing effect is not as pronounced with the new Aloe Vera Gel, but adding a little of our American Colostrum powder gives excellent results. We are now offering this product with a flip top lid as well as a pump.

HEALTH HINT Folic Acid, a vitally important B vitamin I have been surprised at the public opposition to the adding of Folate (Folic Acid) to bread. I am generally opposed to ‘mass medication’ but knowing the widespread lack of Folate in our NZ diet, and its vital importance, I can see merit in this move. Folate is a yellow B vitamin (B9) and is essential for women to bear healthy, newborn babies. Lack of Folate before and during pregnancy is firmly linked with toxemia, miscarriage, mental retardation, Spina bifida and cleft palate. However Folate is also critical for adult male and female brain and artery health, and for bowel cancer protection. A large American study found that adequate Folate reduced the incidence of bowel cancer a massive 75%. Low levels of Folate are also found in heart attack victims, arthritics, alcoholics, backward children, depressed people, psychiatric patients, and those suffering from Alzheimers. Because of these findings, American health authorities now require white flour to be fortified with this vitamin. (Flour naturally contains some Folate.) This has proved successful in reducing deficiencies. |
