CUSTOMER BULLETIN (FOUR)  Autumn 2006

From David Coory, author of the nutrition book "Stay Healthy by Supplying What's Lacking in Your Diet" and Managing Director of Zealand Publishing House.

Dear Valued Customer

Our first catalogue of 2006 is a bit larger than previous ones. We would like to send you four a year if we are not making a nuisance of ourselves. The next one should arrive around May.

I am spending this year going through and indexing the mountain of health information I’ve accumulated in recent years and plan to publish an updated 9th edition of my "Stay Healthy ..."  book early next year. Also a new book called "The Brain Diet".

Muscle energy boost with CoQ10-Omega3

We have had nothing but excellent reports on our new CoQ10-Omega3. The most common report seems to be, "I just feel better!"

My own experience is amazing too. I have a compact, hydraulic rowing machine at home that I use for exercise. One taxing exercise I do once a week with this machine is a kind of bench press, where I sit with my back to the machine and push the handles high above my head against the strong resistance. For years I’ve only managed to do 10 of these and then I need to recover for about a minute then struggle to do another 10. Then recover another minute and force 5 more – 25 in total. Not my favourite exercise.

Two weeks after taking one CoQ10-Omega3 capsule a day, I amazed myself by doing 25 non-stop. First time ever. My previous non-stop record was 15. As an experiment I stopped taking CoQ10-Omega3 for a week then tried again. All I could manage without stopping was 10.

But again after taking CoQ10-Omega3 for a week I could do 25 non-stop. And I’ve been able to do so ever since. It’s a good feeling, especially at 60 years of age.

Is 50 mg a day of CoQ10 enough?

One of our customers rang recently and told us that her Naturopath recommended 100 mg of CoQ10 a day, rather than the 50 mg found in our CoQ10-Omega3. However, in the numerous experiments I have studied involving CoQ10, I have yet to see any advantage in exceeding 50 mg a day, of naturally fermented CoQ10.

Another customer found that the CoQ10-Omega3 normalised his blood to the extent that his Warfarin medication became too powerful. So monitor this with your doctor if you are on a blood medication.

CAA capsules now enhanced with Vitamin B5

Sales of CAA continue to grow in leaps and bounds because of your word of mouth testimonials and use of Post-it-On. It is so thrilling to hear of health improvements day after day when customers re-order.

In line with my desire to continually enhance CAA I have now added Vitamin B5. This natural vitamin is more commonly known as Pantothenic Acid and has a peaceful, tranquilising effect on the mind.

It can be manufactured by a healthy liver, but may not be happening sufficiently in many people nowadays with the huge increase in anxiety disorders. This anxiety increase is believed to be a result of greatly increased use of toxic food additives, especially the ‘flavour enhancer’ 621 MSG which is added to processed meats such as sausage, hamburger, etc, to hide off-flavours and is now even found in baked beans. Also 951 Aspartame, the sweetener used in diet drinks, which actually increases obesity. These two additives are more harmful to us than most people realise. However CAA minerals help block these harmful effects.

Speaking of additives, my wife recently brought home a small chocolate caramel slice from the supermarket. I noticed an unusually large number of food additive numbers on the label, so I counted them. There were 24. Almost unbelievable!

Are CAA capsules safe to take during pregnancy?

We sometimes get calls from customers wanting to know if CAA capsules are safe to take during pregnancy and when trying to conceive. Our answer – "Yes! A thousand times yes!" There is no more important time to take CAA (also Coral C and CoQ10-Omega3) than when trying to conceive, during pregnancy and breast feeding. If you ask a NZ farmer the most important time they have found to supplement their animals, they will tell you the same thing.

A teenager’s growing spurt is another critical time. Often teenage listlessness and sleeping-in is due to lack of minerals because of huge growth demands of the body during this period. I remember years ago how one of my formerly energetic teenage sons, who had become listless at 17, came to life when he began taking a milkshake mineral-vitamin supplement. He was like a clockwork toy that had run down and been wound up again. He would leap out of his car and race inside.

Preventing height loss and
brittle bones as you age

Have you shrunk a few mm in height? Is your back becoming hunched? Or have you broken a bone easily? These are sure signs your bones are losing Calcium.

A healthy bone is like the green branch of a tree, it will flex and bend rather than break. Whereas an unhealthy bone is like the dead branch of a tree, it shrinks in size, becomes brittle, porous and is easily broken.

This loss of Calcium can be prevented, and I believe even reversed, by using high quality Coral Calcium, plus Vitamin D and Boron (found in CAA) and keeping your Phosphorus intake moderate and exercising.

You might like to read about the interesting Japanese study of 80 year old women in the Coral C ad. I am currently researching the type of heat-treated oyster shell Calcium used in Group A. If it should prove better than Coral Calcium we will eventually market it in place of Coral C.

Nearly all men and women over 50 years of age lose ½% to 1% or more of bone Calcium a year, which is why we gradually shrink in height. Coral Calcium should allow us to retain our full stature and retain the strength and flexibility of our bones.

Post-It-On gift pack now contains Coral C

Because we are convinced at Health House of the need for more Calcium in our diet, our popular Post-It-On gift pack will now include a free bottle of Coral C as well as a free bottle of CAA. Also a free $5 Phosphorus-Calcium booklet. All of this will be couriered free, in your name, to any of your family and friends whose address is not already on our customer list. One gift pack per address. See the bottom of the order form on page 4 of our Feb 2006 catalogue for more details.

To prevent us from going bankrupt, we do need to restrict these gift packs to one for every Triple Pack you buy for yourself, or for every two bottles of CAA or Coral C that you buy for yourself.

Please allow several days for these gifts to be processed.

The feedback we receive from the recipients of your Post-It-On requests is most exciting. They tell us of health problems of many years standing, that have vanished or are steadily improving, all because you cared enough to introduce them to CAA. This is such an excellent way of spreading the news about these effective products.

Dolomite and Triple Pack pricing

Packaged Dolomite has now been withdrawn from the NZ market by Healtheries. As a result there has been an increase in the sales of our Coral C capsules. However Coral C is a high quality, premium price calcium and I have always had a concern for our customers on low fixed incomes who may not be able to afford our supplements.

So I was grateful recently when a friendly customer showed me a plastic 500 gm bottle of Halls Herbal Dolomite, distributed by Skybright Ltd in Woodend, near Invercargill. I rang Skybright and found them very friendly. They deal with many NZ Healthshops, so if you can’t afford Coral C you should be able to get supplies of the cheaper Dolomite. (See note below.) Calcium is a vital mineral.

However we have really sharpened our pencil with the Triple Pack prices. A Triple Pack gives you a bottle of CAA, Coral C and CoQ10-Omega3. There are good savings to be made.

(Update. Unfortunately, a month later in March 2006, Skybright advised its retailers that they will longer be supplying Dolomite, as their supplier cannot now guarantee that it is free of harmful minerals. At this stage (May 2006) I do not know of anybody else supplying Dolomite in bulk in NZ.)

Further update May 2007. Skybright, now operating from 105 Coleridge St, Christchurch have now found an American supplier and now again stocking Dolomite and supplying interested Health Shops. Price is $25 a 500 gm bottle. However, if you can afford Coral C, I believe you are receiving a far superior and much more absorbable, organic product.

Try Coral C as a drink

Coral C Coral Calcium powder is so water soluable you can use it to make a pleasant milk-like drink. Just twist open a capsule and tip the contents into the bottom of an empty glass. Add water and stir briefly (it goes white like milk), then drink it. Coral Calcium is the most absorbable natural Calcium available.

Testimonials

On page 2 of our Feb 2006 catalogue there is space for you to write a testimonial for any of our products if you would like to do so. Or just drop us a letter. New customers tell us they find your testimonials very interesting and encouraging. They also inspire us here at Health House to try a little harder.

Kindest regards, David Coory.
